The row lands in a Google Sheet that belongs to you — created for you, handed over to your account, readable and editable without asking anyone's permission. Delete the bot tomorrow and your ledger is still sitting in your own Drive.

Awareness should be cheap. Ownership shouldn't be the price.
Most expense apps ask for your bank login, then hold your history inside a product you rent. texex takes the opposite trade: no bank connection at all, and the data lives somewhere you already trust.
Light enough to actually do
A few taps in a chat you already have open. No app to install, no dashboard to check, nothing to log into. The tracking only works if the logging is boring.
Answers, not scolding
What you've spent this week, what's left of the month, what's already committed before you spend anything. Numbers you can act on — not a red bar telling you that you failed.
Your data stays yours
The spreadsheet is transferred to your Google account. Open it, chart it, export it, or edit a row by hand — the bot reads whatever is there next time you ask.

Everything below works right now. Money always shows in your own currency, and weeks and months start where you live, not where the server does.

- Log one: reason → amount → category → payment method → source, each answered by tapping a button. A negative amount logs a refund or a correction.
- /income
- Salary, a bonus, a gift: reason → amount → payment method → source. Lands in the same sheet, its own column — nothing to reconcile by hand.

- What you've spent since Monday, against a quarter of your monthly budget.
- /thismonth
- The same for the month, with what's left of the budget.
- /manage
- Find an expense by today, this week or this month, tap it, and fix the amount (negative works, for a refund), the reason, the category, or delete it — all by button, no typing an id.
- /insights
- What moved against your own usual this week or month, your biggest and smallest, what you've refunded and put aside — compared to your own history, never a stranger's average.
- /recurring
- Add, edit or delete the rent, the subscriptions, the salary that lands on the same day every month — from the chat, no spreadsheet editing required.
- /settings
- Your categories, payment methods, sources and monthly budget. Add, rename or remove any of them — the changes go straight into the sheet.
- /account
- Where your expenses live, which spreadsheet is linked, your timezone and currency — all changeable.

- What each tab of your spreadsheet is for, in case you want to work in it directly.

- Write to the people building it. Something broken, something missing — say it here and get an answer back in the same chat.

Two questions: where you live and what currency you spend in. They decide when your month starts and what your amounts mean — nothing else is asked.
The spreadsheet gets made for you
texex copies a template, shares it with your Google address, and sends you an invitation to take ownership of the file. Accept it and it's yours outright — the bot stays on as an editor. Already have a sheet? Link that one instead.
Start logging
Send /expense. Your categories and payment methods come from the sheet, so editing them there or in the chat is the same thing.

The file is in your Drive
Ownership is transferred to your Google account, not merely shared with it. You can remove the bot's access whenever you like and keep every row.
There is no second copy inside texex to fall out of sync — one expense, one home. What the sheet says is what happened.
No bank connection, ever
texex never sees your balance, your card, or your login. It knows only what you tell it, which is also why it can't quietly mis-categorise a year of transactions on your behalf.
The trade is honest: you type the amount. In return, nothing is aggregated, sold, or held hostage.
